Welcome to the New Mexico professional engineering licensing page! This page will provide all of the detailed steps necessary to get licensed and stay licensed as a professional engineer in New Mexico. New Mexico is a title authority state when it comes to licensure as a structural engineer.  A licensed civil professional engineer may legally practice within the branch of structural engineering. To use the title of “structural engineer” the applicant must first be a licensed professional engineer, gain further experience in structural engineering, and apply for and pass the NCEES 16 hour structural engineering exam.
